She is sweet, strong, determined, smart, funny, loving, fearless, friendly, and VERY birdie. Please feel free to post any pictures on your website. Ruby continues to learn everyday. Just wanted to thank you guys for the best dog I have ever owned or known. Whistler and I did this hunt the day before Christmas and the result was far better than any present. 9 roosters in total, 3 belonging to Whistler. He caught scent, trailed them, flushed them, marked them, and retrieved them. Did I mention that this was in all done in 8 ft. tall cane brush, I could hardly walk through, I couldnt see where these birds where dropping, but Whistler executed flawlessly. If this is what he's doing at 5 months old, durring his second live bird hunt, I can't wait to see how good he gets to be in future. Thanks again Tom, I couldn't be more happy with the puppy and I couldn't be more proud to say thats my dog, Whistler.

I know I speak to you on a regular basis but I just wanted to send you some photos and let you know that you can use me for a reference anytime.Daisy[Ben X Bandit]is at 8 mos.old so calm,biddable,and always under control.She is very birdy,naturally delivers to hand,steady to shot,and loves to retrieve and again always remains under control n matter the situation.In the Duck/Goose blind she is quiet,calm and alert.Training her has been a very enjoyable experience.We are amazed at how quick she learns.I have used absolutely no force or pressure in training her.She loves to please and is as you say Tom,an honest dog.I believe your breeding program along with the constant care Lori gives the pups is the perfect start they need.You made us feel very welcome and comfortable anytime we visited and were more than accommodating and continue to be.I look forward to the advanced training and also many seasons in the field with Daisy.Keep up the great work and thank you.

Meet Smokey – a River/Molly offspring from January ’06.
Smokey has been the best hunter/retriever we have ever had! Smokey was and continues to be easy to train, and has the best nose for finding those birds. After his first year of retrieving this past fall, Smokey has 17 birds under his belt and of course would have had more if Mom and Dad were better shots!
Smokey is also a good friend and pet. He has learned fast what is expected of him in our home as well. He comes with us everywhere, so he has had many chances to react to the public and we have been satisfied with all of his interactions. At first we were concerned that we may not have much of a guard dog on our hands, but Smokey has really matured in that area as well and now watches over very closely. We now call him the CSO of the family – Chief Security Officer! J Thanks – Tom & Lori - for such a great friend, pet, and retriever!

We were at first interested in a British Lab because of the red fox color that was available, after doing a little more research on the breed we decided that a British Lab would be an excellent choice for a family pet and a hunting companion. We talked and met with many different breeders but were very unsatisfied with our findings. It seemed as if everyone we talked to was either trying to rush us into purchasing a pup or giving them a deposit without even seeing their dogs or their facility. That is when we found River Valley British Labs after viewing their website and an hour long telephone conversation with Lori I knew who we were going to make our purchase from. We purchased Tucker in October of 2007 and have been amazed by him every day since we brought him home. Tucker is excellent with our children and was an absolute dream when it came to basic puppy training. He knew his name within three days and was potty trained in less then a week and a half (with only three messes in the house) he knew basic commands (sit, stay, no, shake) in record time also. Tucker was retrieving dummies in the yard and would deliver to foot at only three months.As for Tom and Lori they are magnificent people that truly love what they do. I speak with Tom on a regular basis getting advice and tips on training Tucker and after only a few short months I consider him a friend and not just someone I bought a dog from. Anyone choosing a British Lab as a pet I recommend making a call to Tom and Lori before make your purchase I assure you that you will not be disappointed. After getting to know them I would be very surprised if you chose to purchase from another breeder. Thanks for a wonderful companion and keep up the good work!
